Carasusana is an accomplished trial attorney with extensive experience in mass torts, medical device and drug litigation, and personal injury law. Since earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 2012, Cara has passionately advocated for clients in high-profile cases involving products liability, defective medical devices, dangerous drugs, and nursing home negligence.
Recognized as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star beginning in 2016 and named among the Top 40 under 40 Civil Plaintiff Attorneys in Ohio by National Trial Lawyers, Cara brings a robust background in regulatory affairs, e-discovery, trial coordination, and complex litigation. Her leadership includes key roles in nationwide cases such as Tenofovir JCCP No. 5043, DePuy Orthopaedics MDL, Testosterone Replacement Therapy MDL, and ASR Hip Implants MDL, among others. She most recently served on the three-member Executive Committee for the Exactech Hip and Knee Device MDL.
Cara actively advances diversity in the legal community as a member of the Toledo Bar Association’s Board of Directors and Chair of the DIRE Committee, overseeing initiatives like the TBA Summer Clerkship Program. She is also a Past President of the Toledo Junior Bar Association and currently serves as a Trustee for both Legal Aid of Western Ohio and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality.
She is admitted to practice in Michigan, Ohio, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the following federal districts: Northern District of Ohio, Southern District of Ohio, Eastern District of Michigan, Western District of Michigan, Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Illinois and the Southern District of Indiana. Cara is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Toledo Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the National Filipino American Lawyers Association, and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. She regularly leads fundraising events supporting legal aid and pro bono efforts across Ohio.
A Michigan Wolverine through and through after attending the University of Michigan for both college and law school, Cara is an avid Michigan football fan and season ticket holder.
